Ordsall Hall: English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

Great Hall

Visits with your ESOL group

We welcome ESOL groups of all levels at Ordsall Hall and are very keen for tutors and students to get involved and find out about life past and present at the hall and in the wider community.

As part of your visit, or as an outreach session in your venue, we can arrange one or more of these museum-led sessions:

Salford Past and Present
Discover about everyday life in the past through voice recordings and photographs. Make comparisons with life today and use your imagination and photographs to describe your life in the past.

The session lasts for 90 minutes and can be tailored for learners at Entry Level 1 to Level 2.

Object dictionaries
Practice your description skills and explore similarities and differences between Tudor and contemporary homes. Explore objects old and new and create an origami object dictionary for selected items found in Ordsall Hall.

The session lasts 2.5 hours and can be tailored for learners at Entry Level 1 to Level 2.

Kitchen, Ordsall HallSelf-guided groups
