Our vision

Social worker

Salford City Council exists to serve its residents. We provide a complete and comprehensive range of services and facilities.

The council's mission statement is "to create the best possible quality of life for the people of Salford."

We aim to support individuals, their families and their communities within the city, as well as developing and boosting Salford's economic base.

Many of our services are high profile and include aspects of education, social services, libraries and community safety.

Salford City Council is a vibrant place to work, learn and grow. Our vision for the Children's Services directorate is to develop people and projects which focus on providing support for children and families who are facing some of the most difficult circumstances.

Our life chances pilots are providing us with a great opportunity to take another look at the work we do to support vulnerable young people and we have a structured induction and training programme to ensure we are always investing in our greatest asset - our social workers.

We work with a supportive network of partners, bringing people together from across the children's and families workforce.

We are excited about the future of Children's Services in Salford and invite you to join us for the benefit of the most important audience of all - children and families.
