A580 East Lancashire Road and Mosley Common Road

Salford City Council proposes to make the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The title and effect of the Order is as follows:

The City of Salford (A580 East Lancashire Road, Mosley Common Road) (Prohibition of Right Turn and U-Turn) Order 2023 

The Order will introduce the following restrictions:

Prohibition of Right Turn on:

A580 East Lancashire Road

  • from the eastbound carriageway no right turn onto A577 Mosley Common Road to travel in a southbound direction.

Prohibition Of U-Turns on:

A580 East Lancashire Road

  • from the westbound carriageway no U turn around the central reservation onto the eastbound carriageway around the western end of the central reserve at the traffic signal junction with A577 Mosley Common Road.
  • from the eastbound carriageway no U turn onto the westbound carriageway around the eastern end of the central reserve at the traffic signal junction with A577 Mosley Common Road.

Footway Conversion To A Shared Use Un-Segregated Footway/ Cycle Track On A580 East Lancashire Road And Mosley Common Road

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council proposes to convert the following lengths of existing footway to cycle track use under section 66(4) and 65(1) of the Highways Act 1980.The footways specified below will be converted to un-segregated shared use area for pedestrians and cyclists.

  • A580 East Lancashire Road, south side, from the easterly projected kerbline of Mosley Common Road, for 96.4m in an easterly direction.
  • A580 East Lancashire Road, south side, from the westerly projected kerbline of Mosley Common Road, for 16.5m in a westerly direction.
  • A580 East Lancashire Road, central reservation, from a point 1.8m west of the westerly projected kerbline of Mosley Common Road, for a distance of 13.4m in a westerly direction.
  • Mosley Common Road, east side, from the southerly projected kerbline of A580 East Lancashire Road for 11.8m in a southerly direction.
  • Mosley Common Road, west side, from the southerly projected kerbline of A580 East Lancashire Road for 12.8m in a southerly direction.
