A580 East Lancashire Road

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council proposes to make an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 

The proposed order seeks to introduce bus and cycle lanes on A580 East Lancashire Road: 

  • From a point 83m east of its junction with the eastern projected back of footway of Newearth Road for a distance of 1,043m north east bound (towards Manchester city centre). 
  • From a point 82m north east of its junction with the eastern projected back of footway of Walkden Road for a distance of 724m north east bound (towards Manchester city centre). 
  • From a point 60m east of the diverge nose kerb of the eastbound entry slip road onto the M60 for a distance of 266m south east bound (towards Manchester city centre). 
  • From a point 50m south east of its junction with the eastern projected kerbline of the park and ride access road for a distance of 128m south east bound (towards Manchester city centre). 
  • From a point 60m south east of the merge nose kerb of the eastbound slip road (off) from the M61/A580 for a distance of 142m south east bound (towards Manchester city centre). 
  • From a point 51m south east of the projected south eastern kerbline of the entry rd into Shield Dr for a distance of 308m south east bound (towards Manchester city centre). 
  • From a point 47m south east of its junction with the eastern projected back of footway of Arthur Street for a distance of 601m south east bound (towards Manchester city centre). 
  • From a point 25m south east from the projected south eastern kerbline of East Meade in a south easterly direction for a distance of 143m south east bound (towards Manchester city centre). 
  • From a point 108.5m south east of its junction with the eastern projected kerbline of Eccles Road to a point 60m east of the projected eastern kerbline of Lancaster Road eastbound (towards Manchester city centre). 
  • From a point 72m west from the projected eastern kerbline of the turning head of Daisy Bank Avenue in a westerly direction for a distance of 264m westbound (towards Leigh). 
  • From a point 130m west of its junction with the western projected back of footway of Lancaster Road for a distance of 79m westbound (towards Leigh).
  • From a point 49.5m west from the western kerbline of the access road into Swinton Golf Club for a distance of 507m westbound (towards Leigh). 
  • From a point 132m north west of its junction with the western projected back of footway of Eccles Road for a distance of 123.5m north west bound (towards Leigh).
  • From a point 101m north west of its junction with the western projected back of footway of Worsley Road for a distance of 600m westbound (towards Leigh). 
  • From a point 2m east of its junction with the eastern kerbline of the central island at its junction with Old Clough Lane for a distance of 180m westbound (towards Leigh). 
  • From a point 347m west of its junction with the eastern kerbline of the central island at its junction with Old Clough Lane for a distance of 266m south west bound (towards Leigh). 

A copy of the proposed order, a plan of the area and statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order may be examined at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Fridays.
