Gravel Lane and Queen Street

Salford City Council proposes to make the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The title and effect of the Order is as follows: 

City of Salford (Gravel Lane, Queen Street, Bankside Boulevard And Northgate Avenue, Blackfriars And Trinity) (Prohibition Of Waiting, Prohibition Of Loading/Unloading, Good Vehicles Loading Bay And Amendment) Order 2023

The Order will introduce the following restrictions:

No Waiting at Any Time on:

Queen Street

  • north-east side, from its junction with Collier Street, to the junction with Gravel Lane

Gravel Lane

  • west side, from the north-easterly projected kerbline of Blackfriars Road, to a point 25.1 metres north of the north easterly projected kerbline of Queen Street;
  • west side, from a point 49.1 metres north of the north-easterly projected kerbline of Queen Street to the south-westerly projected kerbline of Greengate;
  • east side, from the north-easterly projected kerbline of Blackfriars Road to the junction with the south-westerly projected kerbline of Greengate

No Loading at Any Time on:

Queen Street

  • Both sides, from a point 15 metres west of the westerly projected kerbline of Northgate Avenue, to the junction with Gravel Lane.

Goods Vehicle Loading Parking Place (at All Times on All Days) on:

Gravel Lane

  • west side, from a point 25.1 metres north-east of the northerly projected kerbline of Queen Street, for a distance of 24 metres in a north-easterly direction, having a width of 2.5 metres throughout.

City of Salford (Bankside Boulevard, Northside Avenue and Queen Street, Blackfriars and Trinity) (One-Way Traffic) Order 2023

The Order will introduce the following restrictions:

One-Way Traffic on:

Bankside Boulevard

  • from its junction with Gravel Lane to its the junction with Northgate Avenue – Permitted Direction of Travel - In a north-westerly direction (towards Northgate Avenue); having an exemption of pedal cycles in the advisory cycle lane.

Northgate Avenue

  • from its southerly projected kerbline with Bankside Boulevard to its junction with Queen Street – Permitted Direction of Travel - In a south-westerly direction (towards Queen Street); having an exemption of pedal cycles in the advisory cycle lane.

Queen Street

  • from its junction with Collier Street to its junction with Gravel Lane – Permitted Direction of Travel - In a south-easterly direction (towards Gravel Lane).

Salford City Council, Highways Act 1980 - Section 90a, Highways (Road Hump) Regulations 1999, Proposed Introduction of Raised Junction Plateaux

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council proposes to introduce:

Two Raised Junction Plateaux – full width of carriageway, 75mm high (+/- 15mm), constructed full width of the carriageway with approach ramps with gradients no steeper than 1:10 on:

Gravel Lane and Queen Street, Blackfriars and Trinity

  1. Gravel Lane, from a point 51.3m north of the northerly projected kerbline of Queen Street, in a north easterly direction for a distance of 21.2m; for the full width of the carriageway / Bankside Boulevard, from its junction with Gravel Lane, for its entire length; for the full width of the carriageway; and
  2. Queen Street, from a point 1 metre west of the westerly projected kerbline of Northgate Avenue for a distance of 12.9m in an easterly direction; for the full width of the carriageway / Northgate Avenue, from its junction with the northerly projected kerbline of Queen Street, for its entire length; for the full width of the carriageway.

Copies of the proposed Orders together with plans showing the proposals, a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Orders and copies of the Orders it is proposed to amend may be inspected at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm.
