Leigh Road/Occupation Road

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council proposes the make an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011.

The effect of the order will be to introduce:

No waiting at any time on

Leigh Road

  • Both sides from a point 226m east of the projected eastern kerbline of Falconwood Chase in an easterly direction for a distance of 412m
    Leigh Road, Service Road 
  • Both sides for its full length

Occupation Road 

  • Both sides from the southern projected kerbline of Leigh Road in a southerly direction for a distance of 149m.

Introduction of 20 and 40 mph speed limit and revocation

The order shall be to prohibit any person from driving any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20 mph on the following roads:

A572 Leigh Road, Service Road

  • Service Road opposite Occupation Road for its entire length
    Occupation Road
  • From its junction with Leigh Road in a southerly direction for a distance of 125m

The order shall be to prohibit any person from driving any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 40 mph on the following roads:

A572 Leigh Road 

  • From a point 27 metres north west of its junction with Walkden Road (A575) in a westerly direction to a point 59 metres east of the easterly kerbline of Falconwood Chase

Proposed raised traffic calming features

Leigh Road - Service Road, Salford

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council proposes to construct road humps in the lengths of road specified in the schedule below.

If no objections are received, road humps will be constructed on the lengths of road as detailed in the schedule after the 15 March 2018.

Schedule

  • Road humps - 100mm high (+/- 15 mm), five metres in length and the full width of the carriageway, constructed with shallow approach ramps with gradients no steeper than 1:10.
  • Two sets of round top road humps 

The mid-point of the round top road humps are as follows:

Leigh Road - Service Road 

  • 393 metres east from the projected eastern kerbline of Falconwood Chase
  • 421 metres east from the projected eastern kerbline of Falconwood Chase

A copy of the proposed orders together with a plan and statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order may be examined at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 8.30am and 5pm from Monday to Friday.
