Inclusive leisure

Everybody dance now

Everybody dance now is a dance class for disabled children and children with additional needs led by fully qualified dance instructors. For more information please contact Natalie Craig on 0161 778 0564.

Family swimming and water confidence sessions

Family swimming and water confidence sessions are supported by a qualified ASA swimming teacher and qualified lifeguards. For more information please contact Natalie Craig on 0161 778 0564 or your nearest Fit City centre.

Salford Watersports Centre

Salford Watersports Centre provides watersports and outdoor activities that are accessible to people with disabilities, together with their friends and families. For more information please call 0161 877 7252.

Family holidays in Blackpool

Salford City Council owns an adapted caravan at the Haven Holiday site, Marton Mere, Blackpool. The caravan sleeps six people. Adaptations include an access ramp, wide doorways, ceiling track and portable hoist. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and accessible toilet and sink. The caravan is available for hire by families of disabled children at a cost of £50 per night per family. Springwood play area

Springwood School play area is now open to disabled children and their families from across the city. The outdoor play area and facilities are open after school, on weekends and during school holidays.

Wheels for all

Fun, healthy cycling activities for adults and children with disabilities and differing needs through the use of specially adapted cycles.

Grumpy and Start do art!

Grumpy and Start in Salford are running free creative arts and crafts sessions for disabled children aged 5 to 18 years and their siblings. Sessions operate on a first come first served basis with priority given to children with additional needs or disabilities. Irlam and Cadishead Young People's Project (ICY Project)

Support for children with autism

Aspirations project - This organisation supports children and young people with autism. It runs a holiday play scheme and also supports young people who wish to attend the Youth Club at Irlams O'th'Height. Together Trust - The Together Trust run a Saturday group for children with autism at Inscape House School, Salford. For further information, please contact Amanda Hampson on 0161 283 4848.

Salford Link provides out of school activities for families with disabled children from the black, minority and ethnic (BME) communities. Federation of Jewish Services

The Federation of Jewish Services offers schemes specifically for Jewish disabled children. Please contact Shelley Lewis or Carol Moffat on 0161 795 0024 for details.

Torah Tots provides after school groups for disabled children from the Jewish community. Please contact Mina Gold at the Jewish Community Centre, Bury Old Road, Salford, M7 4QY on 0161 795 4000.

Stockport Cerebral Palsy Society

Stockport Cerebral Palsy Society provides holiday play schemes for disabled children under eight years old. Please contact Kirsteen Blair for more information on 0161 432 1248.

Disability youth group

Salford Youth Service runs a youth group for disabled young people aged 12 to 25. Activities include cooking, arts and crafts, trips and visits, and group work. All group members have the opportunity to explore their own experiences and to address attitudes to disability. Please contact the Senior Neighbourhood Youth Work Manager on 0161 778 0700.

Chatsworth Youth Group

Oakwood Youth Group

Oakwood Youth Group provides a range of activities for disabled children aged 11 and over. These include sports and arts based activities. The group is based at Oakwood High School, Eccles, M30 9DY and is open to children from across Salford.
