Salford Playbuilder Programme: Building better play spaces
Salford has secured funding from the government to build or improve 22 play spaces across the city between April 2009 and March 2011. Eleven sites have already been developed during 2009-10 and, following a public consultation, eleven more sites have now been selected to be developed within the next year.
Salford's Playbuilder Programme is intended to create exciting, challenging and innovative new places for all children and their families to play - using natural materials and the natural landscape - in line with Play England's ‘Design for Play - A guide to creating successful play spaces'.
