Salford City Council's seven pledges

All of the council’s services and activities, from refuse collection to social services, aim to meet one or more of the pledges outlined below.
They serve as a long-term framework, shaping the way we work and guiding us towards achieving our mission statement:
"To create the best possible quality of life for the people of Salford."
Click on the description of each for further details, including our headline targets for the current year.
- Pledge 1: Improving health in Salford
- Pledge 2: Reducing crime in Salford
- Pledge 3: Encouraging learning, leisure and creativity in Salford
- Pledge 4: Investing in young people in Salford
- Pledge 5: Promoting inclusion in Salford
- Pledge 6: Creating prosperity in Salford
- Pledge 7: Enhancing life in Salford
Setting priorities for the city
The city council works with other organisations such as the police, NHS, probation service, university, chamber of commerce and local voluntary bodies.
We work together for the benefit of Salford's citizens and businesses and we meet as Partners IN Salford to set priorities for the city.
A phrase you may hear from time to time is "the local strategic partnership" (LSP). In Salford, that's Partners IN Salford.
Priorities agreed by Partners IN Salford are reflected in the council's own targets and cabinet workplan, and are supported in turn by the pledges.
