Environmental protection is a multi-disciplinary team covering the speacialist areas of:

The environmental protection team aims to minimise or prevent all types of environmental pollution in Salford by the appropriate use of available legal powers.

It's main roles are to:

  • Inspect and regulate emissions to the atmosphere from industrial processes in the city
  • Provide active support and advice for businesses
  • Provide 24 hour air quality monitoring of key pollutants
  • Respond to domestic, commercial and industrial noise complaints
  • Investigate complaints of nuisance
  • Carry out investigations into contaminated land
