Environmental protection

Environmental protection is a multi-disciplinary team covering the speacialist areas of:
- Environmental permitting
- Waste exemptions
- Contaminated land
- Air quality monitoring
- Statutory nuisances and complaints
The environmental protection team aims to minimise or prevent all types of environmental pollution in Salford by the appropriate use of available legal powers.
It's main roles are to:
- Inspect and regulate emissions to the atmosphere from industrial processes in the city
- Provide active support and advice for businesses
- Provide 24 hour air quality monitoring of key pollutants
- Respond to domestic, commercial and industrial noise complaints
- Investigate complaints of nuisance
- Carry out investigations into contaminated land
