Introduction of limited waiting and amendments: Browning Street and East Market Street, Salford Order 2010

Notice is hereby given that the council of the city of Salford propose to make an order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

When the order comes into effect limited waiting will be introduced on the length of road specified in Schedule A below.

When the order comes into effect the City of Salford (Browning Street, Salford 3) (Revocation of Prohibition of Waiting and Introduction of New Waiting Restrictions) Order 1993 will be amended as detailed in Schedule B below.

When the order comes into effect the City of Salford (Ford Street and Browning Street, Salford 3)(Revocation of Prohibition of Waiting and Introduction of New Waiting Restrictions) Order 1996 will be amended as detailed in Schedule C below.

The order will contain exceptions to permit waiting for certain purposes and limited waiting by disabled persons' vehicles.

A copy of the proposed order together with a plan of the area and a statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order may be examined at the Legal Section, Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA between 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday inclusive. 

If you wish to object to the proposed order you should send the grounds of your objection in writing to the Director of Engineering, Traffic Management and Control, 4th Floor, Emerson House, Albert Street, Eccles M30 0TE by the 6 September 2010. (quoting reference TRO 1599 / PP/UV 513)

Schedule A 

Introduction of limited waiting 1 hour no return within 2 hours Monday to Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm. 

• Browning Street, north side, from its junction with St Stephen Street in a westerly direction for a distance of 46 metres.

Schedule B

The City of Salford (Browning Street, Salford 3) (Revocation of Prohibition of Waiting and Introduction of New Waiting Restrictions) Order 1993 will be amended in so far as it relates to:

• Schedule 3 waiting limited to 30 minutes in any period of 2 hours will be amended to read 1 hour no return within 2 hours.

Reference to:

• Browning Street, west side, from a point 11 metres south of Cleminson Steet for a distance of 23 metres and from a point 72.5 metres south of Cleminson Street for a distance of 27 metres in a southerly direction.

Will be amended to read:

• East Market Street, west side, from a point 11 metres south of the southern kerbline of Cleminson Street for distance of 34 metres and from a point 72.5 metres south of the southern kerbline of Cleminson Street in a southerly direction for a distance of 27 metres.

Schedule C

Schedule 2 waiting limited to 30 minutes in any period of 2 hours will be amended in so far as it relates to:

• Browning Street, west side, from a point 34 metres south of Cleminson Street for a distance of 11.5 metres in a southerly direction will be deleted.
