HOUSING ACT 1985: SECTION 289 (2B) (a, b and c)
Notice of Intention to include buildings in a clearance area
1.NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Salford City Council (“the Council”) pursuant to their powers under Section 289 of the Housing Act 1985 intend to declare a Clearance Area in respect of the lands described below:
2.The Council having had regard to the guidance given by the Secretary of State under Section 604A of the Housing Act 1985 and Section 85 of the Housing Grants, the Construction and Regeneration Act 1996, are satisfied that the most satisfactory course of action in respect of the area is the demolition of all the buildings in the area.
3.BEFORE the Council proceeds with such action however, any person who wishes to do so is invited to make representations to the Council on the proposals.
4.If any person wishes to make any such representations, they must do so in writing, to the undersigned by 20th May 2005 specifying which property they are interested in, and the nature of their representations. These representations will be fully considered by the Council prior to a decision being made on the way forward.
