Housing and Assets Group

The Housing and Assets Group provide a range of services specifically tailored to the needs of our housing clients.

Our services include right to buy valuations and associated matters, housing resource accounting and strategic advice, and subsequent action relating to non-housing asset management. Right to buy sales are anticipated to reach circa £12 million in 2007/08.

The group are also responsible for the preparation and maintenance of Salford City Council and Greater Manchester Police Authority’s asset register, and the maintenance of the city council's and GMPA’s land and property ownership records.

The group also has a dedicated team of staff who are responsible for the office accommodation strategy within the city council, which involves the identification, and provision of suitable premises to meet the needs of clients. The rationalisation of space and implementation of corporate space standards has resulted in a reduction in the number of buildings either owned or occupied by the council, and the better and more efficient use of retained and new offices.
