Refuse and recycling

Latest update published: 1.00pm, Wednesday 13 January.

*UPDATED* Collection of domestic waste has now resumed.

The council is using the usual schedule for domestic waste collections.

Please put your bin out on your normal collection day before 6.30am. We will also take additional waste if it is correctly bagged.

We would like to apologise for any continued disruption to service. If your domestic refuse is not collected on the usual day, please leave out your bin and we will return later in the week as soon as conditions allow us to undertake collections in a safe manner.

We appreciate your patience.

*UPDATED* Recycling collections remain suspended whilst the backlog of domestic refuse is cleared. Weather permitting we hope to collect recycling blue bins on Saturday 16 January and Monday 18 January so please put your blue bin out on those days and we will empty as many as we can.

If your blue bin is missed on these emergency collections, we are re-starting our normal blue bin collection schedule on Tuesday 19 January, please put your blue bin out as normal from Tuesday onwards.

Recycling brown bins will be collected from Tuesday 26 January, weather permitting, so please do not put these bins out until then.

Alternatively residents can take waste to their local household waste amenity.
