Respect Agenda Commission
During a work programme event held by the Scrutiny Support Team on 31 May 2007, along with subsequent public consultation, people were asked what were the main issues they felt the Council should be looking at and aiming to improve.
The behaviour of young people in the city was cited as an issue and following discussions, it was agreed that this topic would be looked at within a commission. The commission will be a joint project of Sustainable Regeneration and Children, Young People & Families Scrutiny Committees.
The terms of reference have been agreed and can be downloaded below.
Latest developments
The draft Parenting report was presented to Cabinet on 24 March 2009. All the recommendations within the report were accepted and it was agreed that an action plan would be produced stating how they would be implemented.
What’s next?
Once the action plan is completed it will be presented to members of the Commission group and the two relevant scrutiny committees (Children, Young People & Families and Sustainable Regeneration ) for information and will be monitored accordingly on an ongoing basis.
