RHS Tatton Park 2002

Lancashire Garden

At the 2001 Royal Horticultural Society Tatton Show the Landscape Design Group working in partnership with the Casey Group of Companies were awarded a silver gilt medal by the RHS for their 'Garden of Illusion'.

The NWDA sponsored the Central Plaza at the 2002 RHS Tatton Park Flower Show and produced a stunning garden display mirroring the beauty and diversity that exists in the region.

The partnership used the idea of interlocking jigsaw pieces signifying the northwest's five regions, each with their own unique landscape, character and cultural influences which join together to create 'englandsnorthwest'.

Entrance features incorporating representations of logos of the North West Development Agency and the 'englandsnorthwest' theme punctuate a visitor's arrival to the central plaza, who then proceed along a central pathway which reflects the strong axis across the showground.

The plaza is separated into two areas with a strong central focus. On one side are themed gardens, to the other a performance and meeting area, with marquees and display space.
