Rigby Street Gating Order
Highways Act 1980, Section 129A
Notice is hearby given that the council of city of Salford propose to make an order under Section 129A of the Highways Act 1980.
When the order comes into effect the public right of way over the highways specified in the schedule below are shown on the plan annexed to the draft order shall be restricted at all times.
The right of way will not be restricted for use by the occupiers of premises adjoining or adjacent to the relevant highways. Occupiers will retain their right of way by access to keys to the lockable gates.
The council are satisfied that it is expedient to make an order for the purposes of reducing crime or anti social behaviour on the highway.
The alternative route for members of the public will be to use the footpath at the front of 34-44 Rigby Street.
A copy of the proposed order together with a plan outlining the restrictions and evidence supporting the need for the order may be inspected at the Legal Section, Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 8.30am and 5.00pm Mondays to Fridays inclusive.
Any representations or objections to the order may be sent in writing to the Strategic Director of Customer and Support Services C/o. The Litigation Team, Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, by 21 March 2011 (quoting reference H/RB/ES/1419).
Alleyway to the rear of 34-44 Rigby Street, side of 2 Devonshire Street and the side of 26 Dixon Avenue.
