Safety Cameras
All the cameras in Salford are operated by the Safety Camera Partnership - DriveSafe.
There are four types of camera in Salford
- Fixed site (Speed)
- Mobile site (Speed)
- Red light
- Red light and speed on green combined
Cameras can only be located at sites where there have been a number of collisions resulting in people being killed or seriously injured (KSI) and where no other engineering solutions are suitable.

Other sites can be targeted using mobile enforcement as a site of "Community Concern". This is where the collision record does not qualify it for a fixed camera or permanent mobile site but where the concerns of local residents are such that speed cameras would be of benefit in reducing speeds.
