(A572) Worsley Road,

A temporary one-way traffic order will be in effect from Saturday 11 September 2010 for a maximum period of two days on the following section of highway:

  • (A572) Worsley Road, Worsley, from its junction with School Brow to the roundabout at Barton Road / Worsley Brow.

Vehicles will be permitted to travel in a westerly direction only toward Worsley Brow.

The one-way order is required to enable repairs to a valve chamber in the carriageway.

Diversions will be signed via Barton Road - Parrin Lane - Monton Green - Folly Lane.

Hilton Lane, Worsley (2)

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order will be in effect from Tuesday 31 August 2010 for a maximum period of one day on the following section of highway:

  • Hilton Lane, Walkden, between its junctions with Manchester Road and Hulton Avenue.

The order is required to allow traffic calming measures to be constructed.

Diversions will be signed locally.

Car Park, Church Street, Eccles

A road closure order will be in effect from Saturday 11 September 2010 for a maximum period of one day on the following section of highway:

  • Church Street, Eccles, the car park that services Eccles Train Station.

The closure is required to allow an event to take place on the car park.

Gibbs Street, Salford

An emergency road closure order will be in effect from Tuesday 24 August 2010 for a maximum period of 21 days on the following section of highway:

  • Gibbs Street, Salford, from a point 25 metres from its junction with James Street to its Cul-De-Sac end.

The closure order is required to enable the safe demolition of a building which is in a dangerous condition.

No diversion will be possible.

Watson Street, Swinton

A temporary emergency road closure order will be in effect from Friday 30 July 2010 for a maximum period of 6 weeks on the following section of highway:

  • Watson Street, Swinton.

The emergency closure is required to investigate a collapse in the carriageway.

No diversion possible.

Nelson Street, Salford

A temporary road closure order will be in effect from Wednesday 30 June 2010 for a maximum period of 12 months on the following section of highway:

  • Nelson Street, Salford, from its junction with Smyrna Street for its entire length.

The order is required to enable developers to build a new housing development on the site.

No diversions will be possible, access will be denied during construction.

The Quays, Salford

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order will be in effect from Monday 19 July 2010 for a period of up to four months on the following section of highway:

  • The Quays Loop Road, Salford, from the roundabout at the Lowry Plaza to Anchorage Quay.

The road will be closed in sections as and when required throughout the four month period to enable the resurfacing of the carriageway. The road will not be completely closed at any one time and access will be maintained for residents and businesses.

It is envisaged that the road will open fully in the evenings from 6.00pm until 8.00am and at the weekends.

Should the road be closed alternative diversion routes will be displayed.

Hilton Lane, Worsley

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order will be in effect from Monday 21 June 2010 for a maximum period of six months on the following section of highway:

  • Hilton Lane, Worsley, for its entire length.

The order is required to enable re-construction of the existing traffic calming measures within the highway. Works will be carried out under phased working.

The official diversion will be signed via the (A6) Manchester Road - Moorside Road - (A580) East Lancashire Road - Newearth Road and vice versa.

Access will be maintained for residents when possible.  

Gravel Lane, Salford

Temporary revocations of a one-way order will be in effect from Monday 29 March 2010 for a period of 18 months on the following sections of highway:

  • Gravel Lane, Salford, between its junctions with Blackfriars Street and Greengate.
  • Greengate, Salford, between its junctions with Gorton Street and Chapel Street.

Traffic will be allowed in both directions of travel as indicated above.

The order is required to enable contractors to construct the Greengate / Chapel Street public realm improvement scheme and new footbridge between Manchester and Salford crossing the River Irwell.

Chapel Street, Salford

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order and an introduction of a temporary one-way order will both be in effect from Monday 29 March 2010 for a period of 18 months on the following section of highway:

  • Prohibition of Driving order, Chapel Street, Salford, from its junction with Victoria Bridge Street to a point 30 metres south west of its junction with Victoria Street.
  • One-way traffic order, Chapel Street, Salford, from a point 30 metres south west of the junction of Chapel Street with Victoria Street to Victoria Bridge Street. 

The order is required to enable contractors to construct the Greengate / Chapel Street public realm improvement scheme and new footbridge between Manchester and Salford crossing the River Irwell.

Greengate, Salford

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order will be in effect from Monday 29 March 2010 for a period of 18 months on the following section of highway:

  • Greengate, Salford, from its junction with Chapel Street to its junction with Gorton Road.

The order is required to enable contractors to construct the Greengate / Chapel Street public realm improvement scheme and new footbridge between Manchester and Salford crossing the River Irwell.

South bound traffic will be diverted via a section of Gravel lane which is to be opened for two way traffic.

Salteye Lay-by, Eccles

A temporary revocation of a one-way order will be in effect from Monday 12 April 2010 for a period of 12 months on the following section of highway:

  • Salteye Lay-by, Eccles, from a point 135 metres south of its junction with the (A57) Liverpool Road for a distance of 235 metres in a southerly then easterly direction.

The order is required to enable site remediation works to take place.

Heyworth Street, Salford

A road closure order will be in effect from Monday 8 March 2010 for a period of 18 months on the following section of highway:

  • Heyworth Street, Salford, for its entire length

To enable works to take place adjacent to the highway.

No diversion possible.

Bridson Street, Salford

A road closure order will be in effect from Monday 8 March 2010 for a period of 18 months on the following section of highway:

  • Bridson Street, Salford, for its entire length

To enable works to take place adjacent to the highway.

No diversion possible.

Various Roads, Salford (3)

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order will be in effect from Monday 11 January 2010 for a period of 12 months on the following sections of highway:

  • Grosvenor Square, Salford, for its entirety.
  • Wheater's Street, Salford, for its entirety.
  • Errington Drive, Salford, from its junction with Charley Avenue, for a distance of 50 metres in a southerly direction.
  • Jessamine Avenue, Salford, from its junction with Wheater's Street for a distance of 50 metres in a southerly direction.
  • Cumberland Street, Salford, from a point 42 metres west of its junction with Grosvenor Square for a distance of 35 metres in a westerly direction.

The order is required to facilitate the construction of a new development.

Cheadle Avenue, Salford

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order will be in effect from Thursday 14 January 2010 for a period of ten months on the following section of highway:

  • Cheadle Avenue, Salford, from its junction with Bradley Avenue to its junction with Kingsley Avenue.

The order is required to protect public safety whilst construction plant accesses the highway to carry out major works.

Diversions will be signed locally and access will be maintained for local residents.

Various Roads, Salford (2)

A temporary road closure order will be in effect from Monday 1 June 2009 for a period of 18 months on the following sections of highway:

  • Wheaters Terrace, Salford, for its entire length.
  • Piercy Avenue, Salford, for its entire length.
  • Charley Avenue, Salford, for its entire length.

The order is required to enable drainage works for the construction of a new primary school and housing estate.

No diversions will be possible.

Various Roads, Salford (1)

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order will be in effect from Friday 1 May 2009 for a period of two years on the following section of highway:

  • Cardiff Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • Devonshire Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • Tully Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • Wiltshire Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • King Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • Turner Street, Salford, for its entire length.

The closures are required to enable the safe demolition of properties adjacent to the carriageway and will be carried out under phased working.

No diversions will be possible.

Hulton Street, Salford

A temporary road closure order will be in effect from Monday 27 November 2008 for a period of two years on the following section of highway:

  • Hulton Street, Salford, from a point 100 metres east of the eastern side of West Craven Street in a westerly direction to its cul de sac end adjacent to Trafford Road.
  • Hulton Street, Salford, from a point 112 metres east of West Craven Street for a distance of 95 metres in an easterly direction.

The order is required to facilitate the construction of a new development.

No diversion will be possible.

Dettingen Street, Minden Street, Egmont Street, Salford

A temporary road closure order will be in effect from Tuesday 4 September 2007 for a period of 60 months on the following sections of highway:

  • Dettingen Street, Minden Street, Egmont Street, Salford, from the junction with Duchy Road for there entire lengths.

The order is required to enable the demolition of existing housing and for the erection of a new development.

No diversions will be possible during the closure period.
