Pembroke Street, Walkden (New)

A temporary road closure order will be effect from Monday 23 January 2012 for a period of six weeks on the following section of highway:

  • Pembroke Street, Walkden, from its junction with the (A6) High Street in a northerly direction only for a distance of 80 metres toward the Ellesmere Centre, the outbound carriageway joining the (A6) will remain unaffected.

The works are required to enable improvement works to brooks and culverts.

Vehicles will be diverted locally.

Lansdale Street, Salford (New)

A temporary road closure order will be in effect from Monday 23 January 2012 for a maximum period of five days on the following section of highway:

  • Lansdale Street, Eccles at its junction with the (A57) Liverpool Road, no access or egress will be possible.

The closure of the junction is required to enable sewer investigation works to take place.

Diversions will be signed locally.

Jubilee Street, Salford

A temporary road closure order will be in effect from Monday 23 January 2012 for a period of two months on the following section of highway:

  • Jubilee Street, Salford, from its junction with Langworthy Road to its junction with Duchy Street.

The road closure order is required to enable the safe demolition of a building adjacent to the carriageway.

Diversions will be signed locally.

Chapel Street, Salford (1)

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order will be in effect from Monday 9 January 2012 for a period of up to three months on the following section of highway:

  • (A6) Chapel Street, Salford, both sides from its junction with the (A5063) Albion Way to its junction with the (A6042) Trinity Way.

The closure order is required to enable highway construction works to take place during off peak periods only between 9.00pm and 6.00am on specified days and will be advertised locally on site as and when the road closure are in effect.

Diversions will be signed locally.

Ford Street, Salford

A temporary road closure order will be in effect from Sunday 21 August 2011 for a period of seven months on the following section of highway:

Ford Street, Salford, at its junction with the (A6) Chapel Street.

  • The closure order is required to enable excavation and reinstatement works as part of the (A6) Chapel Street regeneration works.

Diversions will be signed locally.

Great George Street, Salford

A temporary road closure order will be in effect from Sunday 21 August 2011 for a period of seven months on the following section of highway:

  • Great George Street, Salford, at its junction with the (A6) Chapel Street.

The closure order is required to enable excavation and reinstatement works as part of the (A6) Chapel Street regeneration works.

Diversions will be signed locally.

Adelphi Street, Salford

A temporary road closure order will be in effect from from Monday 18 July 2011 for a period of seven months on the following section section of highway:

  • Adelphi Street, Salford, (one-way traffic order), vehicles will only have access to the (A6) Chapel Street, in a south bound direction only, no access will be available from the the (A6) Chapel Street from the north or southbound carriageways or from the (A5066) Oldfield Road. Vehicles wishing to access Adelphi Street will be diverted via the (A6) Chapel Street - the (A6042) Trinity Way and the (A5066) Blackfriars Road.
  • Adelphi Street, Salford, (full road closure order), there will be no access to or from the (A6) Chapel Street, vehicles will be diverted via Cleminson Street.

The temporary orders are required to enable reconstruction and resurfacing works to the (A6) Chapel Street.

Clarence Street, Salford

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order will be in effect from Wednesday 18 May 2011 for a period of 24 months on the following section of highway:

  • Clarence Street, Salford, between its junctions with Great Clowes Street and Whitsun Avenue (formerly Duke Street).

The closure order is required to enable the redevelopment of land adjacent to the highway.

No diversions will be possible.

Saint Phillips Place, Salford

A temporary road closure order will be in effect from Monday 24 October 2011 for a period of six months on the following section of highway:

  • St Phillips Place, Salford, at its junction with the (A6) Chapel Street no access will be possible.

The temporary order is required to enable reconstruction and resurfacing works to the (A6) Chapel Street and improvement works to St Phillips Place.

Vehicles wishing to access the (A6) Chapel Street from St Phillips Place or vice versa will be diverted via Bank Street - Great George Street - Cleminson Street and the (A5066) Adelphi Street. 

Hulton Street, Salford

A temporary road closure order will be in effect from Monday 28 February 2011 for a period of 12 months on the following section of highway:

  • Hulton Street, Salford, from its junction with West Craven Street in a westerly direction to its cul-de-sac end.

The closure order is required to provide a site compound for a new development.

No diversion will be possible.

Greengate, Salford

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order will be in effect from Thursday 20 October 2011 for a period of two years on the following section of highway:

  • Greengate, Salford, from its junction with Chapel Street to its junction with Gorton Road.

The order is required to enable contractors to construct the Greengate / Chapel Street public realm improvement scheme and new footbridge between Manchester and Salford crossing the River Irwell.

South-bound traffic will be diverted via a section of Gravel Lane which is to be opened for two-way traffic.

Chapel Street, Salford (2)

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order and an introduction of a temporary one-way order will both be in effect from Thursday 20 October 2011 for a period of two years on the following section of highway:

  • Prohibition of Driving order, Chapel Street, Salford, from its junction with Victoria Bridge Street to a point 30 metres south-west of its junction with Victoria Street.
  • One-way traffic order, Chapel Street, Salford, from a point 30 metres south west of the junction of Chapel Street with Victoria Street to Victoria Bridge Street. 

The order is required to enable contractors to construct the Greengate / Chapel Street public realm improvement scheme and new footbridge between Manchester and Salford crossing the River Irwell.

Gravel Lane, Salford

Temporary revocations of a one-way order will be in effect from Thursday 20 January 2011 for a period of 18 months on the following sections of highway:

  • Gravel Lane, Salford, between its junctions with Blackfriars Street and Greengate.
  • Greengate, Salford, between its junctions with Gorton Street and Chapel Street.

Traffic will be allowed in both directions of travel as indicated above.

The order is required to enable contractors to construct the Greengate / Chapel Street public realm improvement scheme and new footbridge between Manchester and Salford crossing the River Irwell.

Various Roads, Salford

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order will be in effect from Wednesday 4 May 2011 for a period of two years on the following section of highway:

  • Cardiff Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • Devonshire Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • Tully Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • Wiltshire Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • King Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • Turner Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • Carnarvon Street, Salford, for its entire length.

The closures are required to enable the safe demolition of properties adjacent to the carriageway and will be carried out under phased working.

No diversions will be possible.
