(A572) Leigh Road, Worsley (New)

A temporary road closure order will be in effect from Saturday 26 May 2012 for a maximum period of two days on the following section of highway:

  • (A572) Leigh Road, Worsley, from its junction Worsley Brow for a distance of 500 metres.

The closure is required to enable the safe removal of three condemned trees adjacent to the (A572) carriageway.

Vehicles will be diverted via the (A575) Walkden Road - the (A580) East Lancashire Road. 

Fitzwarren Street, Salford (New)

A temporary road closure order came into effect yesterday Monday 21 May 2012 for a maximum period of five days on the following section of highway:

  • Fitzwarren Street, Salford, at its junction with the Pendleton Way roundabout.

The closure order is required to enable essential works at the this junction.

Diversions have been signed locally, we apologise for the late notice.

Lower Seedley Road, Salford (new)

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order will be in effect from Monday 21 May 2012 for a period of nine months on the following section of highway:

  • Lower Seedley Road, Salford, from its junction with Coomassie Street to its cul-de-sac end.

The closure is required on grounds of highway safety to allow the development of a new housing development adjacent to the carriageway.

No diversion required.

Pendleton Way, Hankinson Way, Salford

Works are currently underway on the above stated sections of highway to upgrade the carriageway surfaces, introduce new bus stop facilities and improve street lighting and associated signage as part of the improvement works to Pendleton Shopping City.

Delays should be expected whilst works are carried out until 1 October 2012. 

Astley Road, Irlam

A temporary road closure order will be in effect from Monday 23 April 2012 for a period of three months on the following section of highway:

  • Astley Road, Irlam, for its entire length.

The road closure order is required to enable resurfacing works to take place.

Diversions will be signed via Roscoe Road.

Park Street, Salford

A temporary road closure order will be in effect from Monday 2 April 2012 for a period of 24 months on the following section of highway:

  • Park Street, Salford, for its entire length.

The order is required to enable the realignment of Islington Way.

No diversions possible.

Matherfold Road, Worsley

A temporary road closure order will be in effect from Monday 26 March 2012 for a period of two months on the following section of highway:

  • Matherfold Road, Worsley, at it junction with Newearth Road.

The closure is required to enable essential works to the Greater Manchester ring main (fresh water supply).

Diversions will be signed locally.

University Road, Salford

A temporary one way order will be in effect from Monday 12 March 2012 for a period of seven months on the following section of highway:

  • University Road, Salford, from its junction with The Crescent in a northerly direction for a distance of 105 metres.

Traffic will be permitted to travel in a northerly direction only.

The one way order is required to facilitate the construction of a new lay-by on University Road.

Diversions will be signed locally for south bound traffic.

Jubilee Street, Salford

A temporary road closure order will be in effect from Monday 26 March 2012 for a period of two months on the following section of highway:

  • Jubilee Street, Salford, from its junction with Co-operative Street in a westerly direction to its junction with Osborne Street.

The road closure order is required to enable repars to a damaged sewer main.

Diversions will be signed locally.

Clarence Street, Salford

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order will be in effect from Wednesday 18 May 2011 for a period of 24 months on the following section of highway:

  • Clarence Street, Salford, between its junctions with Great Clowes Street and Whitsun Avenue (formerly Duke Street).

The closure order is required to enable the redevelopment of land adjacent to the highway.

No diversions will be possible.

Greengate, Salford

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order will be in effect from Thursday 20 October 2011 for a period of two years on the following section of highway:

  • Greengate, Salford, from its junction with Chapel Street to its junction with Gorton Road.

The order is required to enable contractors to construct the Greengate/Chapel Street public realm improvement scheme and new footbridge between Manchester and Salford crossing the River Irwell.

South-bound traffic will be diverted via a section of Gravel Lane which is to be opened for two-way traffic.

Gravel Lane, Salford

Temporary revocations of a one-way order will be in effect from Thursday 20 January 2011 for a period of 18 months on the following sections of highway:

  • Gravel Lane, Salford, between its junctions with Blackfriars Street and Greengate.
  • Greengate, Salford, between its junctions with Gorton Street and Chapel Street.

Traffic will be allowed in both directions of travel as indicated above.

The order is required to enable contractors to construct the Greengate/Chapel Street public realm improvement scheme and new footbridge between Manchester and Salford crossing the River Irwell.

Various Roads, Salford

A temporary Prohibition of Driving order will be in effect from Wednesday 4 May 2011 for a period of two years on the following section of highway:

  • Cardiff Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • Devonshire Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • Tully Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • Wiltshire Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • King Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • Turner Street, Salford, for its entire length.
  • Carnarvon Street, Salford, for its entire length.

The closures are required to enable the safe demolition of properties adjacent to the carriageway and will be carried out under phased working.

No diversions will be possible.
