Annual Report for the Race Equality Scheme 2006
Annual Report into the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000
This is the fourth annual report on Salford City Council’s Race Equality Scheme.
It highlights what the council has been doing to meet its general and specific duties since the publication of the scheme in May 2002 and how effective partnership working through the local strategic partnership (Partners IN Salford) is helping to move the equalities agenda forward.
The city council has taken several positive steps this year in order to improve its performance as an inclusive council. These steps are indicative of the commitment by the city council to diversify its workforce and help make Salford a place that people will want to visit, live in, invest and work. It also demonstrates the city council’s commitment to turn policy into practice.
Action plans for these council directorates have been drawn up: Customer and Support Services, Housing and Planning, Environment, Community, Health and Social Care, and the Chief Executive's directorate, plus the Urban Vision partnership.
