Salford Strategic Flood Forum

The Salford Strategic Flood Forum was established following discussions with the Lead Member for Planning regarding the best way to implement recommendations arising from the Pitt Review into the 2007 floods.

The forum is chaired by the Lead Member for Planning and attended by officers with planning, drainage and emergency planning expertise, as well as by external partners such as the Environment Agency and Salford University. It plays an important co-ordinating role in preparing the city council to deal with new responsibilities emerging from the 2010 Flood and Water Management Act.

Minutes from the forum meetings are available to download below, together with a background report, which sets out in some detail the reasons for creating the forum and its terms of reference.
