Salford First Films

As part of the MediaCityUK community engagement programme, Salford First Films project gave young people from across Salford the chance to learn practical film-making skills. Working with Boldface Productions, four groups from across the city completed a series of workshops over five weeks, before completing their own films in just 15 hours.
The groups were:
- Irlam and Cadishead Youth Centre
- Salford Young LGBT Group
- Pendleton Football Project
- Clifton Youth Centre
The films all relate to the young people's own experiences and include topics as diverse as modern views on tattoos, to a piece on Mr T, a local shopkeeper affected by the summer riots.
You can see all the films on our YouTube channel or watch the introduction film below for a behind the scenes view of the project and a taster of the groups' films.
