Salford West

Strategic Regeneration Framework and Action Plan
"In 2028 Salford West will be one of the most desirable and prosperous areas in Greater Manchester."
The Salford West Framework sets out an ambitious vision for the area. It will drive investment across the west of Salford to 2028, influencing public and private sector investment, attracting new investment to the area. This means public, private and community sectors working together to a common vision. The framework complements the ongoing regeneration of Central Salford.
The framework was developed through a series of consultations (2006-2007) with local communities, Elected Members, strategic partners and the private sector. There was a real passion from all involved around revitalising town centres and neighbourhoods, improving transport links and making the most of economic, leisure and heritage opportunities. Consultations, along with indepth analysis of local data, led to the vision and identified areas for action.
The framework is being delivered through a series of action plans. The 2008-2011 action plan focuses on:
- Improving Liverpool Road Corridor (A57)
- Developing the Bridgewater Canal Corridor
- Supporting Salford West Town Centre
