Community cohesion training course
From 1 September 2007, a new duty came into force requiring maintained schools to promote community cohesion. The contribution that schools make to community cohesion became part of the OfSTED inspection from September 2008. The community cohesion duty is explicitly placed on school governing bodies.
The training session will:
- help governors to understand their duty
- highlight actions that many schools are taking to promote tolerance and respect
- and share the good practice that is already developing
