Information for minute officers
Join the Governor Services minute officer scheme
What is the minute officer scheme?
We currently have a team of 10 Minute Officers, who work for us as volunteers, taking minutes at governing body meetings in our schools.
You can join our team of minute officers if you are currently an employee of Salford City Council.
What is in it for you?
- You will receive excellent on the job training on how to be a professional minute taker, a useful and sought after skill in any administrative post
- Once you are trained, you will be paid a minimum fee of £36.51 for every meeting where you take the minutes. We also pay your travelling expenses where appropriate. During your training you will be paid at a reduced rate
- You will enhance your career development prospects
- You will gain more insight into the work of our schools and the work of Children's Services in general
- You will meet a lot of interesting, dedicated people who give up their time, as unpaid volunteers, to be school governors
- You choose when, where and how often you work each term
Still interested - what now?
Please contact the Governor Services team for friendly advice on the scheme, as well as details on forthcoming briefing and recruitment sessions.
