Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care
This qualification replaces the NVQ Level 3 in Care Award and is designed for people who often work without direct supervision or on their own. Ideally they should have supervisory responsibility or be involved in specialist tasks with some degree of responsibility or independence.
This award is particularly relevant to senior care workers, health care workers, home care organisors and community support workers.
Learners must achieve a minimum of 58 credits to gain the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England. To do this they must achieve:
- Group A - 28 credits from the mandatory units
- Group B - a minimum of 2 credits and a maximum of 7 credits from the optional units
- Group C - a minimum of 23 credits from the optional units
Learners claiming a specialist pathway (Dementia, or Adults with Learning Disabilities) must achieve some specified units within the credits required in groups B and C.
