Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care
This qualification replaces the NVQ Level 2 in Care and is designed for those who support and assist individuals with their physical or emotional care, daily living needs or maintaining their independence.
It is extremely relevant for home care assistants, community support assistants, healthcare assistants and residential or day service assistants.
Candidate will be required to undertake the following units:
- Group A - nine mandatory units (24 credits)
- Group B - optional context / specialist knowledge units (minimum two, maximum seven credits)*
- Group C - optional competence units (at least 15 credits)*
*Choice / number of units will be subject to which pathway has been identified i.e. generic, dementia or learning disability.
