Langworthy Hotel

Built at the turn of the last century the hotel has served the wider Langworthy area for many years. In 1985 Whitbread's undertook a refurbishment scheme and the hotel operated as a public house from then until its sale in 1993, at which point the new owners converted the hotel to provide self contained hostel accommodation.
In 2000, Salford City Council acquired the hotel, positioned in the village centre along Langworthy Road, on behalf of the Seedley and Langworthy Partnership. Despite seeking to secure a development partner for the building over a number of years the cost of refurbishment has proved too expensive and on 7 March 2011 the Leader of Salford City Council, John Merry approved the demolition of the hotel on health and safety grounds due to its deteriorating condition.
The record of decision document for the hotel is available at the bottom of this page.
