Salford City Council employs 10,844 people, including 4,287 within schools.
The council's capital expenditure for 2010/11 is £159m and gross revenue expenditure for 2010/11 is £674m.

Accountability and responsibility of senior officer roles

Chief Executive: Directly or indirectly responsible for managing all the council's staff, capital and revenue expenditure and services.
Assistant Chief Executive: Directly or indirectly responsible for managing 155 staff and capital and revenue expenditure of £20m.
Strategic Director for Customer and Support Services: Directly or indirectly responsible for managing 1,142 staff and capital and revenue expenditure of £85m.
Strategic Director for Community Health and Social Care: Directly or indirectly responsible for managing 1,385 staff and capital and revenue expenditure of £139m.
Strategic Director for Children's Services: Directly or indirectly responsible for managing 1,814 staff (plus 4,287 within schools) and capital and revenue expenditure of £273m.
Strategic Director for Environment and Community Safety: Directly or indirectly responsible for managing 1,656 staff and capital and revenue expenditure of £31m.
Strategic Director for Sustainable Regeneration: Directly or indirectly responsible for managing 405 staff and capital and revenue expenditure of £285m.
