Service User Network
The Service User Network (SUN) has taken the place of the Core User Group.
What is it?
The Service User Network is primarily a group for vulnerable people living in supported accommodation, carers, advocates and support workers.
One of the main aims of the Supporting People team is to give tenants and service users more influence over their support services, so that in the long term, we are better able to meet people's needs.
The SUN encourages service user involvement on many different levels and gives people the opportunity to influence current and future service provision in Salford.
What's it all about?
The network is used to provide you with information on what's happening in housing and for us to get your views on current and future housing services. This can help us develop new policies.
Members of the Service User Network can:
- Raise issues about housing-related service services
- Take part in consultation
- Get involved with service reviews
- Help to highlight gaps in services
- Share information about training, development and involvement opportunities
- Share good practice and promote joint working across supported housing services
How you can get involved
The SUN meetings are held every three months and are facilitated by the Supporting People team.
The meetings are divided into two parts, A and B.
Part A of the meeting is about sharing good practice between services and services users, publicising upcoming events for members to attend, promoting activities happening in individual services and exploring opportunities for service user involvement.
Part B of the meetings focus on consultation and information sharing around activities happening in housing and housing-related services.
You can be a member of the Service User Network in different ways:
