SFRA surface water flooding maps
A large number of maps have been produced as part of the Level 2 / Hybrid Strategic Flood Risk Assessment for Manchester, Salford and Trafford. The most important surface water flooding maps are available to download from this page.
These maps have been produced using a computer model which simulates where water would gather following heavy rain. They are a useful indication of areas where surface water flooding may be a concern which should be addressed in the Flood Risk Assessment for development proposals.
Work is ongoing on a Surface Water Management Plan (SWMP) for Greater Manchester which will provide further information on surface water flooding in due course.
