Sheltered housing
Sheltered housing works with the city's two biggest housing organisations, City West Housing Trust and Salix Homes, to provide a 24-hour warden service throughout every scheme in Salford.
What do they provide?
Sheltered housing can provide support, security and opportunities to meet people as tenants are able to mix with others and feel part of a wide community within the scheme.
They provide regular activities such as:
- Regular coffee mornings
- Games sessions
- Craft classes
- Exercise classes
- Annual event parties
Area wardens support tenants in arranging these activities along with fundraising events and trips out.
The facilities within schemes differ and may include a communal lounge, laundry and gardens.
