Are you being made redundant or worried you might be?

In the current economic downturn there are many people who will be living with the threat or possibility of redundancy. In these circumstances it is important to look at what you can do if the 'worst came to the worst', or what personal development you can undertake to enhance your prospects of keeping your career prospects elsewhere.

Help is available

There are numerous training and development opportunities that people can access, and many of them are free!

Through Government funding, in order to assist residents of Greater Manchester during the economic downturn, Work Solutions is offering free independent careers advice and information on employment opportunities.

What's involved?

Each session will provide:

  • An overview of the learning and skills available to you locally
  • Information about employment opportunities, both permanent and temporary
  • Free careers advice with a qualified careers adviser to discuss individual aspirations, issues and circumstances

Booking information

So if you have recently been made redundant, are under threat of redundancy or want to develop your career and maintain your current employment, you can book a place on one of our sessions by telephoning 0161 909 6503 or by emailing skillsandwork@salford.gov.uk.

There are a number of sessions in a variety of areas at various times, so give us a ring to book one that is convenient for you and take control of your own future.
