SNAP - your neighbourhood action week

SNAP is a way of bringing people together to focus on local problems - aiming to clean up areas and target criminal activity over a week of action.
These are led by Salford City Council in partnership with Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, local housing providers and the Probation Service’s community payback team.
SNAPs involve a variety of activities depending on the specific needs of your neighbourhood and include things like:
- removing graffiti
- collecting large items of rubbish
- cutting back overgrown trees
- education programmes in schools about drugs, alcohol and crime
- fire and community safety initiatives
- tackling anti-social behaviour
- crime reduction
We hope that this targeted action will result in longer term improvements and make your neighbourhood a safer, more pleasant and enjoyable place to live.

The SNAP team were in Walkden South recently, check out the SNAP blog to see what they got up to.
The next SNAP will be in Claremont for a week from 13 February 2012. If you live in this area, why not fill in our questionnaire and tell us what you'd like to see us do during SNAP week? You can also have a look at the rest of our upcoming SNAP weeks.
Help us
We want you to take pride in your community and feel safe in your surroundings. Don't tolerate crime - it is vital you tell us about local crimes, anti-social behaviour and where we can make environmental improvements to the local area. You can do this by contacting us.
