Speculative bids for supported accomodation
Speculative bids for supported accommodation
The Urban Renewal (Development) Team in Sustainable Regeneration, working with Supporting People, manage the development and delivery of a range of new build and refurbished supported housing projects on behalf of commissioners of vulnerable groups across the city such as:
- older people
- people with disabilities
- homeless people
- young people leaving care
- women fleeing domestic violence
- people with mental health problems
- people with drug and alcohol problems
- offenders or people at risk of offending
- teenage parents
Do you have property or land you think may be suitable for supported housing?
From time to time we receive speculative bids that come to the council in the form of land or property, and are suggested by their owners for use as supported housing developments.
The Urban Renewal (Development) Team assesses these speculative bids against the current known needs of a range of commissioners (as identified to Supporting People), and ensure that these bids are assessed against the widest range of plans and strategies.
If you have a property or land you think may be suitable for supported housing, please fill in the downloadable Supported Housing Expressions of Interest form at the bottom of the page and email to rob.fletcher@salford.gov.uk with the relevant information. This will allow us to review and process your offer of housing and compare it with our current strategic supported housing needs.
Are you a commissioner looking for supported accommodation to meet your needs?
The Urban Renewal (Development) Team can send you the speculative bids we receive. If a bid is of interest to you and meets any of your short, medium or long term plans or strategies, please discuss it with the Urban Renewal Capital Build Team. We can assist in the exploration of the costs of the project, check the organisations involved, manage procurement and contracts, project plan and oversee development for you.
About the Urban Renewal (Development)Team's projects
The Urban Renewal (Development) Team has a proven track record of setting up projects and delivering client's visions from initial concept to the end project/development. We provide an in house resource to offset the need to go out to external consultants which further generates savings.
We are involved in:
- project managing the delivery of new build and refurbished capital build projects, which are generally supported housing projects for vulnerable groups
- liaising with a variety of partners such as registered social landlords, health, University of Salford, businesses, architects and contractors
- the preparation of the bid for funding
- site identification
- preparing the design brief
- consultation with residents, business and communities through the planning process
- overseeing the project through the construction phase
- the launch/marketing of the schemes
- provide a full suite of documents from project initiation documents (PIDS) to delivery
- added value of a wealth of advice and knowledge built up in this area
