Open hire sessions

Open sessions

Open sessions provide an excellent opportunity to find the right watersport for you. Fully qualified instructors supervise you on a variety of watersports including sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and open canoeing. These sessions are ideal to give you a taste of a particular sport. Alternatively you can use the session to build upon skills that you have learnt if you have already been on a course before progressing to the next level.

To sail or windsurf on an open session, you must have prior experience. If you intend to sail it is advisable to phone first to check that the boats are not being used on a course that may be running at the same time. Any adults wishing to sail on open sessions are recommended to enquire about our adult sailing improver sessions which run on a Wednesday evening. Please contact the centre for more details.

On your first open session you must complete a medical form. Anyone aged 16 or under must have the parental consent section signed. This form is available on our downloads page so you can complete it before your first visit to save queueing when you arrive.

Watersports open sessions are available from May to September.
