Eccles, Winton and Barton

Eccles Market, late 1930's (right)
"Not a bus in sight, and very few cars. When market stalls were not in the way the tram tracks by the classically looking Williams Deacons Bank (left) would be used to park waiting trams so they did not obstruct other traffic. Can you remember the shop just beyond where the tram is parked? It was Quinn's gramophone record shop which had the familiar His Master's Voice advert over the window." [Ted Gray]
