St Paul's Heathside Sure Start Children's Centre

St Paul’s Heathside Children’s Centre is situated next door to St Paul’s Heathside Primary School in Walkden, just off Whittle Street and is five minutes walk from the Ellesmere Shopping Centre. As well as a crèche/community playroom the building has a training room, medical room, sensory room and also houses a resource centre where parents can borrow toys, story sacks and children’s reading books. Parents are welcome to drop in to the centre to access these services but please phone first on 0161 921 2153.
In April 2011 the children's centre was merged with Worsley, Ellenbrook and Boothstown children's centres. Outreach sessions in these areas are still held regularly from a variety of community buildings. Please see our timetable to see what's on in the main centre and across the Worsley, Ellenbrook and Boothstown areas.
We have a core staff of five centre workers who deliver the majority of sessions and can also provide help and advice and in addition various other professionals also use the centre:
- Health Visitors are here to answer any queries you have on your child's physical development
- Communication Development Worker Claire Pritchard will discuss any concerns you have with your child's speech and language development
- Our centre counsellor is on hand to advise if you experiencing difficulties in your life and want to achieve a more positive outlook on life
