Improving Salford's street scene

The council is committed to working with our partners to improve the quality and attractiveness of the local environment and ensure that Salford is a clean, green and safe place to live and work.

Over the years, the city has undergone some major changes. From a city firmly rooted in its proud industrial past, Salford is quickly moving to a truly vibrant and sustainable future thanks to a range of major investment and regeneration programmes.

The appearance and maintenance of Salford's street scene (which refers to such things as roads, footpaths, street lighting, parks and public spaces, street design and physical infrastructure and appearance) plays an integral role in this transformation.

Therefore, to show how the street scene in Salford is changing for the better, the council has produced the below document which provides more details of the various projects, plans and policies that are in place to improve and manage Salford's streets and public places.

It will be of interest to any organisations and individuals involved in enhancing the street scene and associated environmental attractiveness, and anyone who has an interest in the quality of the local environment.

Alternatively, if you are interested in improving your local street scene or have a good idea for a community project to make the environment cleaner, greener or safer we would love to hear from you. If it is something the council cannot immediately help with, then we can put you in touch with other organisations such as community committees and friends groups who may be able to support your idea.
