Contract process
Contract appraisals
The intention is for the supporting people to visit each provider in order to complete a contract appraisal within the term of the steady state contract. In order to initiate this process the following information will be required:
- An annual QAF self assessment return: We have developed a simple recording system to enable you to self assess under the Refreshed Quality Assessment Framework under all five core objectives.
- SPI data: We require your SPI workbooks completed and returned to the nearest quarter.
- Strategic Relevance details. EG. How you contribute to the Local, Regional and National strategic priorities. What demand there is for your service.
- A list of contact details for major stakeholders, whom we may contact to comment on your service.
This information will then be assessed and will help us to gain an insight into the service. From this a contract appraisal meeting will be arranged that will be based around the Supporting People contract workbook, which is completed by a Supporting People contracts officer and then used as a working document. The workbook incorporates many areas including the Quality Assessment Framework (QAF), Service Performance Indicators (SPIs) and Service User Consultation.
The one day visit will work through the contract workbook with specific emphasis on the QAF, however, it will not entail all the objectives, only selected areas will be assessed. Once the workbook has been completed a copy will be available for reference and future targets. Your service will then be expected to work towards these targets which will be assessed during the next contract appraisal visit. It is anticipated on average that two/three visits will occur over the steady state contract life.
We trust that this information is reasonable and informative but feel free to contact us should you require further clarification of this process. In addition, if there is any change to your contract managers - please let us know as soon as possible to ensure that there are no delays to the process.
