Procurement information
We are pleased to introduce you to the Salford Supporting People Procurement Strategy which sets out our vision, intentions, plans and actions for the procurement of housing related support services in our city over the next three years. The Strategy underpins and confirms the priorities highlighted in our Supporting People 5 Year Strategy and aims to enhance our vision to fully embrace the ethos of the Supporting People Programme by making improvements to housing related support services for all vulnerable people living within our community.
Our intention therefore is to ensure that an effective, fair, transparent and non-discriminatory approach to procurement is developed and maintained in order to strategically commission services, which are of high quality, that are cost effective and which deliver clear and tangible benefits to vulnerable people who need them the most, making the future happen by supporting citizens to improve their quality of life in Salford.
The Supporting People tendering process uses a Preferred Provider List when a new service is to be tendered. The PPL is a list of providers who have been deemed Fit For Purpose through the Supporting People Accreditation process . All Supporting People Services who have been accredited were automatically included in the PPL which went live in September 2009. The list is now closed and will not reopen to additional providers wishing to work in Salford until 2013. In total 70+ providers expressed an interest in joining the list. This list includes providers already operating in Salford and providers who are not.
