Support planning
Before planning what support you are going to buy, you need to know how much money you have. The indicative amount is more or less how much you have to spend on your support. It is based on your assessment.
Using your indicative amount as a guide, we will ask you to think about:
- changes you want to make to your life
- the goals you want to achieve
- what support will help you
We will ask you to record these as your support plan. Use the form at the bottom of this page, or be more creative if you want. A social worker can support you with this.
What should you include in a support plan?
Before we can agree your support plan, you need to include:
- What is important to you?
- What do you want to change?
- How will you be supported?
- How will you spend your Individual Budget?
- How will your support be managed?
- How will you stay in control of your life?
- What are you going to do to make this plan happen (action plan)?
You can find a detailed explanation of these seven questions from the In Control guide at the bottom of this page.
Once we have agreed your support plan, we can work out what your personal budget is - the actual amount of money that you will have to spend on support.
