Children's centres
Do you have a child under five?
Salford's Sure Start Children's Centres are committed to giving your child the best start in life. They make life easier for you by offering services and information to support you and your child from pregnancy to primary school.
These include:
- Quality registered childcare and early learning; including 15 hours free early education for three and four year olds, which will help your child to develop and be confident when they start school. This is offered either on site or through a local setting
- Parenting and family support
- Healthcare advice from antenatal to postnatal, through health visitors and midwives, including breast feeding support, weaning and healthy eating
- Employment, training and job seeking advice from our partner Job Centre Plus
- Lots of fun activities and the chance to talk to other parents and make new friends
There are 16 centres and three linked centres across the city based right in the heart of Salford's communities. Our friendly staff are always pleased to meet you, just call in to your nearest centre.
What our parents say:
"I recommend it (the centres) to every parent. I've made lots of friends who share experiences, and I don't feel silly asking questions. The staff are really friendly offering services and advice, and the children love coming here." Daniel's mum Clare.
