Request for community payback schemes

Salford City Council works in partnership with the Community Payback Team to undertake projects that tidy up and improve your local area. Some examples of local schemes that have already happened in the Swinton and Pendlebury areas are:

  • Destructor Road clean-up and tidy of public walkway
  • St Augustine's Church garden improvements
  • Blantyre Street alleyway access improvements

How does it work?

Swinton and Pendlebury Local Delivery Partnership Group is a local forum to enable partners to address antisocial behaviour and community safety concerns.

If you have a scheme to be considered for Community Payback, please email chris.tucker@salford.gov.uk or contact the Neighbourhood Management Team on 0161 607 1961.

Swinton Lions

Are you interested in being involved in a great project tracing the history of Swinton Rugby League Football Club?

The Swinton Neighbourhood Team in partnership with the Federation of Stadium Communities are looking for people who have or have had a connection with Swinton Lions as a supporter or in any other capacity.

If you would like to be interviewed about your memories and recollections of this great club please contact Chris Tucker on 0161 607 1963 or email chris.tucker@salford.gov.uk.

Community transport

Swinton and Pendlebury Community Committee has funded a mini bus for use by local community groups and agencies working with people from the Swinton area.

The bus has recently been used to transport young people to indoor sports venues in other areas of the city.

If you are a member of a community group or have a general interest in using the bus, please contact the Swinton Neighbourhood Management Team on 0161 607 1961 for more information.
