Swinton Town Centre - managing change
The Swinton Community Committee area is covered by the Salford West Framework.
The framework sets an ambitious vision for the west of the city. It looks at how we (the council, partners and local communities) can work together to improve local neighbourhoods, develop wider leisure activities and encourage business investment. Improvements are already underway. A local In Bloom project, supported by Salford West, has been a big hit with local residents over the last couple of years.
Swinton Precinct
The precinct is owned by a private company, any plans to upgrade and develop it are dependent on the owners of the site.
We are in ongoing discussions with the owners but given that company is in receivership and in the hands of a building society it is difficult to envisage any major investment in the near future. However we will continue to discuss the future of the precinct with the owners.
