RHS Tatton Park 2004

Salford City Council's Landscape Design Group are again celebrating success at the 2004 RHS Tatton Flower Show by scooping an ‘Award of Merit' for their Central Plaza - ‘Reflections of Englandsnorthwest'.
This is the group's fifth award in the four years that they have exhibited at the event. Designed for the North West Development Agency, the plaza attracted numerous compliments from the thousands of visitors.
Visitors were invited to discover and reflect upon the elements of water that connect the region. A modern display tunnel and urban water sculpture represented Greater Manchester's renaissance and tall sails and stainless steel wave forms portrayed Merseyside's rich maritime history.
The President of the RHS, Sir Richard Carew-Pole presented the ‘Award of Merit' to project manager Andy Stockton, principal designer Dan Sterry and site agent Peter Burgess, complimenting them on an "outstanding Plaza".
The plaza, which was officially opened by HRH Princess Alexandra, was again designed by the Landscape Design Group and constructed in partnership with the Casey Group of Companies.
