The Crescent Development Framework

Salford City Council consulted on a draft development framework and associated Sustainability Audit for The Crescent area over the period from 7 November to 16 December 2011. The purpose of this document was to:
- consult on a vision for the area, set out design principles and potential land uses, and provide a programme for achieving the vision
- consult on the potential mix of uses for the area and
- ensure that existing regeneration projects contribute to the transformation of the area.
Next steps
The council received approximately fifty comments on the draft document. These will now be analysed and where it is considered appropriate, integrated into a revised development framework. All comments received throughout the consultation, along with officer's responses to these comments, will be set out in a consultation statement. This statement, along with the revised development framework, will be submitted to the Assistant Mayor for Strategic Planning with the recommendation that the document be adopted by the council to form part of its planning framework for this part of the city.
