Timescales

This is an approximate timescale for the Pendleton Private Finance Initiative (PFI) scheme. Our original timetable had to be amended in light of the outcome of the government's 2010 Comprehensive Spending Review.

  • February 2010 - the two bidders invited to the next stage were announced.
  • Spring 2010 - the council met with the two bidders to help refine their proposals and develop contractual documents.
  • Summer 2010 - the two bidders held consultation events to discuss their plans with you.
  • December 2010/summer 2011 - Value for Money exercise.
  • Winter 2011/2012 - the two bidders will submit their final bids to the council, which will then be evaluated by the Pendleton team.
  • Spring 2012 - announcement of the winning bidder.
  • Autumn 2012 - work starts in Pendleton. The new housing development, demolition and refurbishment of properties begins.

Throughout this timescale we will continue to hold regular meetings with the tenant and resident groups.
