Prohibition of Waiting and Peak Hour Loading/Unloading Restrictions: Islington Way, Salford Order 2006

Notice is hereby given  that the council of the city of Salford propose to make an order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and by virtue of the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special parking Area) (City of Salford) Order 2001 (Statutory Instrument 2001, No. 894) made by the Secretary of State for Environment, Transport and the Regions, pursuant to Schedule 3 of the Road Traffic Act 1991.

When the order comes into effect you will not be allowed to cause or permit any vehicle to wait at any time on the length(s) of road specified in schedule 'A' below  nor to load/unload between the hours of 7.30 a.m. - 9.30 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. Monday to Friday on the length(s) of road specified in schedule 'B' below.

The order will contain exceptions to permit waiting for certain purposes and limited waiting by disabled persons' vehicles.

A copy of the proposed order together with a plan of the area and a statement of the council's  reasons for proposing to make the order may be examined at the Legal Section, Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5DA, between 8.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

If you wish to object to the proposed Order you should send the grounds of your objection in writing to the City Solicitor, Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5DA by the 16 March 2006 (quoting reference H/PP/SM/C/PD/RTO/02094).

Schedule A

INTRODUCTION OF NO WAITING AT ANY TIME

  • Islington Way, west side, from its junction with Chapel Street for its entire length.
  • Islington Way, east side, from its junction with Chapel Street to a point 10 metres south of the southern kerbline of North Star Drive and then from a point 71 metres south of the southern kerbline of North Star Drive in a southerly direction then around the turning head including the cul de sac end a distance of 45 metres.
  • Barrow Street, north side, from its junction with Islington Way in a westerly direction to its junction with Wroe Street.

Schedule B

INTRODUCTION OF PEAK HOUR LOADING/UNLOADING BAN

7.30 a.m. - 9.30 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

  • Islington Way, west side, from its junction with Chapel Street to the northern kerbline of Park Street.
  • Islington Way, east side, from its junction with Chapel Street to the northern kerbline of North Star Drive.
