Prohibition of waiting, introduction of limited waiting and revocation: Liverpool Road, Mather Road, Bright Road, Gladstone Road, Cannon Street, Devonshire Street, Eccles Order 2007

Notice is hereby given that the council of the city of Salford propose to make an order under Sections 1, 2,  4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and by virtue of The Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (City of Salford) Order 2001 (Statutory Instrument  2001 No. 894) made by the Secretary of State for Environment, Transport and the Regions pursuant to Schedule 3 of the Road Traffic Act 1991.

When the order comes into effect you will not be allowed to cause or permit any vehicle to wait on the length of road specified in schedule 1 below.

When the order comes into effect limited waiting will be introduced on the lengths of road specified in schedule 2 below.

When the order comes into effect the following orders will be revoked as detailed in schedule 3 below

The Borough of Eccles (Waiting Restrictions) Traffic Regulation (No. 1) Order 1963

The Borough of Eccles (Various Streets) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 1964

The city of Salford (Liverpool Road, A57, Eccles) (Revocation of Prohibition of Waiting and Introduction of New Prohibition of Waiting) Order 1994

The Borough of Eccles (Patricroft Bridge) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 1965

The order will contain exceptions to permit waiting for certain purposes and limited waiting by disabled persons' vehicles.

A copy of the proposed order together with a plan of the area and a statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order may be examined at the Legal Section, Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5DA, between 8.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

If you wish to object to the proposed order you should send the grounds of your objection in writing to the City Solicitor, Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5DA by the 3 January 2008 (quoting reference H/PP/SM/C/PD/RTO/02641).

Schedule 1

Introduction of no waiting at any time

• Mather Road, east side from the junction with Church Street for a distance of 10m in a northerly direction.
• Mather Road, west side from the junction with Church Street for a distance of 14m in a northerly direction.
• Bright Road, east side from the junction with Church Street for a distance of 10m in a northerly direction.
• Bright Road, west side from the junction with Church Street for a distance of 30m in a northerly direction.
• Devonshire Road, east side from the junction with Liverpool Road for a distance of 10m in a northerly direction.
• Devonshire Road, west side from the junction with Liverpool Road for a distance of 15m in a northerly direction.
• Gladstone Road, east side from the junction with Liverpool Road for a distance of 10m in a northerly direction.
• Gladstone Road, west side from the junction with Liverpool Road for a distance of 15m in a northerly direction.
• Cannon Street, east side from the junction with Liverpool Road for a distance of 10m in  a southerly direction.
• Cannon Street, east side from a point 22m south of the junction with Liverpool Road for a distance of 17m in a southerly then south easterly direction.

Introduction of limited waiting 1 hour no return within 2 hours Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm

• Mather Road: east side from a point 10m north of the junction with Church Street for a distance of 18m in a northerly direction.
• Bright Road: east side, from a point 10m north of the junction with Church Street for a distance of 18m in a northerly direction.
• Devonshire Road: east side from a point 10m north of the junction with Liverpool Road for a distance of 12m in a northerly direction.
• Gladstone Road, east side from a point 10m north of the junction with Liverpool Road for a distance of 12m in a northerly direction.
• Cannon Street: east side, from a point 10m south of the junction with Liverpool Road for a distance of 12m in a southerly direction.

Introduction of no waiting 7.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. Monday to Friday, limited waiting 1 hour no return in 2 hours Monday to Friday 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., 6.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. and Saturday 9.30 a.m. to 9.30 p.m.

• Liverpool Road, north side from a point 113m east of the junction with the easterly kerbline of Milton street for a distance of 20 metres in an easterly direction.
• Liverpool Road, north side from a point 178m east of the junction with the easterly kerbline of Milton Street for a distance of 19m in an easterly direction.
• Liverpool Road north side from a point 341m east of the junction with the easterly kerbline of Milton Street for a distance of 26m in an easterly direction.

Schedule 3

Revocation of The Borough of Eccles (Waiting Restrictions) Traffic Regulation (No. 1) Order 1963 in so far as it relates to schedule 1.

• Mather Road from a point 45 feet north of its junction with Church Street to its junction with Church Street.
• Bright Road from a point 45 feet north of its junction with Church Street to its junction with Church Street.
• Devonshire Road from a point 45 feet north of its junction with Liverpool Road to its junction with Liverpool Road.
• Gladstone Road from a point 45 feet north of its junction with Liverpool Road to its junction with Liverpool Road.
